When you think of SEO you are probably thinking that you have that nailed down; you’ve written your website content using relevant keywords and phrases, you’ve given all the images relevant descriptions and names, you’ve added some links and have a few backlinks in place. Now you just need to wait as the enquiries roll in. But the story doesn’t end there: SEO is an ongoing task that should be near the top of your weekly marketing to do list. But on your list it doesn’t need to say ‘do some SEO’, instead it should clearly state ‘CONTENT MARKETING STRATEGY’.
By having an ongoing content marketing strategy in place you will increase the effectiveness of your website SEO. As your website is continually searched and reviewed by Google and the other search engines, they will find your new content (which you will have optimised with your most relevant keywords and key phrases), and hey presto your ranking improves. It’s not a quick fix though, it won’t happen overnight, it has to be an ongoing strategy where you are adding fresh content – whether that be blogs, videos, news items, social posts etc – on a regular basis.
Putting an ongoing content strategy in place might seem like a lot of work, but it will pay dividends in the long run.
